Grail Redux

We all have our own "holy grail" sneaker(s). Well-situated in my top 5 is the original Neon Green/Gray Air Max 95.

The AM95 design has held up and still looks current when compared with much newer models like the AM360 or Free.

Many, many...did I say many?...colorways have come out in the 13 years since this shoe first hit the streets. Most notable among them was the Stash-designed edition which still fetches four figures online.

However, my personal favorite has always been the OG colorway...nothing better. Unfortunately, until the last couple weeks, picking up a pair without dropping an arm and a leg seemed unrealistic.

Two things occurred: 1-the AM95-inspired AF1 Supreme (pictured below in all its glory) and 2-the rerelease of the grail itself, the neon green/gray AM95.

A separate post will address the AM95, but the pics below speak for themselves. I am NOT an AF1 fan and these were my first pair. Nuff said.

Tangled Web of the Woven

Yes, the woven. I have to admit I wasn't sold on the woven look. But seeing these Blazer Premium Wovens in person changed my mind. Had to add them to the collection...perfect for summer, with shorts or jeans.

In fact, of all the sneakers I own, these simple deals have gotten the most number of compliments barring only the Jordan 3's and 4's, from sneakerheads and regular folks alike.

Simpler can indeed be better.

Hyperjunk

So, K.O.B.E made it back to the finals. Without Shaq. And he won the MVP this season.

Regardless, he still gets on our nerves. He's that guy who tries WAY too hard to be down. Unfortunately, he is also one of the best basketball players in the league (arguably the best), so his teammates defer to him, laugh at his bad jokes and humor his "cool guy act."

Case in point, his asinine Hyperdunk promotions in which he jumps over an Aston Martin, as well as a pool filled with snakes (along with the Jackass crew).

You may be a great player. And your shoe may be cool. But you sir, are not.

Something in the Air

Well, maybe not always Air, but thanks to Sneaker.fr (via Hypebeast) we have a sneak peek at some of Nike's Fall and Winter kicks.

We're not a fan at all of the Jordan fusions shown here, but the Air Max 90's look tasty. There are a mix of various materials and textures in many of the detail shots, which is refreshing...enough of the patent leather already. We want to see more mesh toeboxes and interesting hybrids (such as those using the Free sole).
