Backdraft

So, the Air Jordan V is in my top 5 all-time sneakers. Nike retro'ed the V in white/fire-red in late 2006 and then the black/silver in early 2007.

Now the white/fire-red is back, this time as part of a Jordan countdown pack. One thing I like in the early pictures is that they brought back the black midsole that was changed in the retro version from 2006. See below and Sneakerfiles for more info.

Turtle Twosome

Since I accidentally deleted my last year-and-a-half's worth of posts, I figured I should at least repost the most popular pics from the missing content.

As seen on HBO's Entourage, the "Fukijama" AF1's that Vinny bought Turtle are stunners. They're on display at the HBO store in NYC and reportedly one other pair made its way through Undefeated.

Check Freshness for more pics of these toe ticklers...

Basketball Lessons

I was having a conversation about weak hip-hop with a coworker and Lil Wayne came up...we laughed about Baby/Birdman...and this song still sticks in my head, only because of the sick T-Mac commercial from a few years back.

Puma Collabs

Check em out...Puma collaborations with Atmos and Japanese wildlife photog Mitsuaki Iwago (I never heard of him before either, don't worry).

The series includes several animals...below is the Polar Bear. I'm biased because I love Puma kicks, but these are extra, extra special...the icy sole and fuzzy effect are great.

Big thank you to Sneaker Freaker for the info and pics.

Pure Heat

Ask basically any sneakerhead or even casual fan and the Air Jordan 3 will end up near the top of their list of all-time favorites. For me personally it's top 3, if not #1.

Nike is retro'ing some of the most popular and sought-after models in the coming months, including the AJ3 in the OG colorway of black/cement/red. A pic of the soon-to-be-released AJ3 is below courtesy of KATC. Fair warning...you'll be behind me in line for these.

Kaws n Effect

The pics below (via NiceKicks) speak for themselves. Kaws and his signature "x" really hit the spot with these limited edition AF1's. Good luck getting a pair.

Cape vs Mamba

We have commented before on Kobe's obsession with creating his own nicknames. We found out a couple years ago that he dubbed himself "Mamba," after the deadly snake. Then this season he decided it was "The Cape" and that he had super powers.

Apparently he's back to his reptilian ways, as the Hyperdunk now has a Mamba edition. Terrible...just terrible.

Just View It

I found a pretty cool countdown of one man's collection of the top 20 Nike television ads. There are some classic, classic ads featuring Bo, MJ, Tiger, Lance and many others.

Several of these bring back great memories for me and will likely do the same for any sneakerhead or Nike fan. Enjoy!

NYT Article on Flight Club

While killing time tonight, I ran across this 2006 article from the New York Times. It's a fun peek into Flight Club New York.
